Abimbola Adebakin is the Chief Executive Officer for Advantage Health Africa an aggregator in the retail pharmacy space and also project director of The PLSP. (www.advantagehealthafrica.com),
She promotes good practices, capacity development, innovation and collaboration in stimulating growth within the sector. Formerly, as Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the Tony Elumelu Foundation, she led the operations, redesign and sustainable implementation of the $100 million, multi-year, pan-African Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme. It is the largest African-sourced philanthropic gift, targeting entrepreneurial acceleration in Africa with annual training, funding, connection and mentoring of 1000 Africans solving African issues.
Prior to this, Abimbola grew her consulting expertise leading the consulting arm of Financial Institutions Training Centre (FITC) and previously at Accenture. She has worked on various projects across a variety of sectors including Insurance, Healthcare, Agriculture, Power Distribution, Aviation Support, Public Services and Financial Services. She is also an entrepreneur having successfully run her own pharmaceutical start-up. Her expertise lies in Performance Improvement, Institutionalization and Strategy Development, Programme and Project Management, Culture and Change Management, Operations Management, Business Development and Capacity Building.
Personal Experience
She is Certified Performance Technologist (CPT) of the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI), and has a degree in Pharmacy and an MBA from University of Lagos. She is currently on the advisory board of HCPLink an exclusive networking space for network professionals in Nigeria. She is also an accredited Master Trainer for the Global Forum/IFC Board Training programme for Board Directors, and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) of Nigeria. She is a consultant with the World Bank, African Agribusiness Incubation Network (AAIN) and the African Development Bank (AfDB). She is a Herbert H Humphrey Fellowship candidate.
Abimbola is keen on entrepreneurship development, business sustainability, longevity and impact, human capacity development and helping organisations to demonstrate tangible solutions to the myriad of issues existing in Africa’s emerging nations.
